Alan has been affiliated with alcohol drug rehab for 25 years, and has been
actively practicing recovery for 37 years.  His adult life began at age 27 with
an awakening which began his rich and active recovery life in 12 Step
Programs.  Alan began counseling at Mount Pleasant Hospital in Lynn
Massachusetts. Alan moved to California in 1984 and began a rich and
varied career at Betty Ford Center including a highly acclaimed 4 day
intensive workshop on Codependency  for Alcohol/Drug patients.
Alan is happily married to Kirsten Murch.  His two adult daughters live in
Virginia.  Kirsten and Alan have divided  their time between California and
Vermont but are now permanently relocated in  Groton VT.

Alan has three CD's available for purchase. The talks were given to patients
and family members at Betty Ford Center and were amongst the most
popular of talks given at the Center.
